Prior to taking up the position at WU she was a researcher at the Insight Centre for Data Analytics, Ireland, where she completed her PhD, which focused on Access Control for Linked Data. Sabrina also participated in the Líon II project, a research project funded by Science Foundation Ireland, as an industry partner. Sabrina is working on the PROPEL project, which investigates technological challenges, entrepreneurial opportunities, and open research questions on the use of Linked Data in a business context. Previous workshops include: LinkedStartup@ISWC2016, PrivOn@ISWC2013, and DESWeb@ICDE 2016.

He has a PhD in Information and Communication Technologies from the University of Trento, Italy (2009) and an MS degree with distinction in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from the Belarusian State University, Minsk, Belarus in 2002. His research interests are focussed on improving scholarly publishing, which is achieved by participation in projects such as: PEERE, New Frontiers of Peer Review, Springer LOD Pilot, Linked Open Data about Conferences, Smart Topic Miner, where we are developing a dynamic taxonomy of CS topics and apply it for classifying proceedings CrossRef’s working group on unique conference IDs and CrossMark for proceedings.
Paul Buitelaar, Insight Centre for Data Analytics, National University of Ireland, Galway, https://www.insightcentre.org/users/paul-buitelaar (paul.buitelaar@insight-centre.org) Senior Lecturer at the National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG), vice-director of the Insight Centre for Data Analytics at NUIG and head of the Insight Unit for Natural Language Processing. My main research interests are in the development and use of Natural Language Processing methods and solutions for semantic-based information access. In recent years we developed the Saffron framework for knowledge extraction, which has been used in industry applications with Irish Times, Kennys and HP. Another line of recent research is on the definition and implementation of lemon, a vocabulary for Linguistic Linked Data, which was developed in the context of the EU funded project Monnet and is currently being applied in EU projects such as LIDER, EuroSentiment and MixedEmotions.
Javier D. Fernández, WU Vienna, Austria, https://www.wu.ac.at/en/infobiz/team/fernandez/ (jfernand@wu.ac.at) Dr. Javier Fenández is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Information Business of WU Wien, where he enjoys a Lise Meitner grant funded by the FWF Austrian Science Fund. Before he joined the WU, he worked at the Ontology Engineering Group (OEG) at Universidad Polit ́ecnica de Madrid (Spain), and the Dipartimento di Ingegneria Informatica Automatica e Gestionale at Sapienza Università di Roma (Italy). His expertise includes compression of Linked Data, and his current research focuses on efficient Linked Data access, archiving and processing. He was leading a W3C member submission on efficient, binary RDF interchange (HDT) and has published over 40 papers in the areas of Linked Data, RDF and its applications. He also served in programme committees of several international conferences and workshops, and co-organized two national conference series concerning the “Data Revolution”.
Anna Lisa Gentile, Universität Mannheim, Germany, http://w3id.org/people/annalisa (annalisa@informatik.unimannheim.de) Dr Anna Lisa Gentile is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist in the Data and Web Science group at University of Mannheim in Germany. Her research field concerns large- scale Information Extraction technologies. She worked on Named Entity Disambiguation during her PhD where she investigated the exploitation of large and freely available Knowledge Resources. Since 2013 she is involved in the scholarlydata (http://w3id.org/scholarlydata) project, collecting conference data starting from a refactoring of the Semantic Web Dog Food (SWDF). She has published in major conferences such as LREC, EMNLP and ISWC has been serving as a PC member for conferences such as ISWC, ESWC, IJCNLP amongst others. She holds a PhD from the University of Bari (Italy).
Paul Groth, Elsevier Labs, Netherlands, http://pgroth.com/ (p.groth@elsevier.com) Paul Groth is Disruptive Technology Director at Elsevier Labs. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Southampton (2007) and has done research at the University of Southern California and the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. His research focuses on dealing with large amounts of diverse contextualized knowledge with a particular focus on the web and science applications. Beyond his work on data provenance, he has been involved in a number of initiatives around applying semantic web technologies to scientometric topics, including some of the first work in altmetrics, nanopublications, and sharing scientific dataset. He regularly speaks at scholarly communication events.
Pascal Hitzler, Wright State University, USA, http://www.pascal-hitzler.de/ (pascal.hitzler@wright.edu) Pascal is endowed NCR Distinguished Professor and Director of Data Science at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, U.S.A. In 2001 he obtained a PhD in Mathematics from the National University of Ireland, University College Cork. His research record lists over 300 publications in such diverse areas as semantic web, neural-symbolic integration, knowledge representation and reasoning, machine learning, denotational semantics, and set-theoretic topology. He is Editor-in-chief of the Semantic Web journal by IOS Press, and of the IOS Press book series Studies on the Semantic Web. He is on the editorial board of several journals and book series and on the steering committee of the RR conference series, the NeSy workshop series, and the newly founded Association for Ontology Design and Patterns, and he frequently acts as conference chair in various functions. He has already organized over 40 workshops, including at major conferences, Dagstuhl Seminars, and hands-on vocabulary camps.
Ioanna Hulpus, Universität Mannheim, Germany, http://dws.informatik.unimannheim.de/en/people/researchers/dr-ioana-hulpus/ (ioana@informatik.uni-mannheim.de) Dr. Ioana Hulpuș is a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Mannheim, in the Data and Web Science group. She obtained her PhD in 2014 from the Insight Centre of Data Analytics, Galway. During her studies she focused on the analysis of the graph structure of semantic knowledge bases, to solve text analysis problems such as word-sense disambiguation, semantic relatedness computation and topic labelling. Before joining DWS she has worked in projects with industry partners such as Elsevier, Irish Times and RTE (the national broadcaster of Ireland), researching semantic graph-based solutions to various industry challenges. In her work with Elsevier, she researched novel altmetrics for incorporating the properties of diffusion of scientific topics in assessing the impact of scientists and of scientific institutions.
Krzysztof Janowicz, University of California, Santa Barbara, USA, http://geog.ucsb.edu/~jano/ (janowicz@ucsb.edu) Prof. Krzysztof Janowicz leads the STKO lab at the University of California, Santa Barbara that investigates the role of space and time for knowledge organization. He is the program chair of UCSB’s cognitive science program and an editor-in-chief of the Semantic Web journal. Janowicz made substantial contributions to the fields of geo-semantics, sensor ontologies, linked scientometrics, and cyber-data infrastructures. Experience with organizing workshops and events include being a PC Chair of EKAW 2014 and GeoS 2009; scheduled to be a PC Chair of USSS 2017 and KCAP 2017; and being an organizer of workshops such as SDW 2016, WOP 2014, SSN 2014, GIO 2014, GIBDA 2012, LSTD 2010, as well as various VoCamps between 2012-2016.

He has contributed numerous scientific publications in a wide range of research areas including Linked Data, operations research and management science, decision analysis, agent-based simulation, innovation, and blended learning.

He received a PhD in Computer Science in 2014 from the University of Bologna (Italy). His research interests concern Knowledge Extraction, Ontology Design Patterns, Linked Data and Semantic Web. He has been a researcher in the EU funded project IKS (Interactive Knowledge Stack) and a main developer of Apache Stanbol software stack, which provides a set of reusable components for semantic content management. He has published scientific papers in international journals and conferences.
Francesco Osborne, Knowledge Media institute (KMi), Open University, UK, http://people.kmi.open.ac.uk/francesco/ (francesco.osborne@open.ac.uk) Francesco Osborne holds a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and is a research associate at the Knowledge Media institute, The Open University (UK). His research focuses on Semantic Web, Semantic Publishing and Knowledge Extraction. He won the Semantic Publishing Challenge at ESWC 2014 for his work on Rexplore, a novel system for exploring and making sense of scholarly data. He organized SAVE-SD 2015-2016 and has been on the committee of a number of relevant workshops, such as WOSP 2014-2016 (at JCDL) and BigScholar 2015-2016 (at WWW).

He obtained his Ph.D. and habilitation from Vienna University of Technology. His research focuses on querying and reasoning about ontologies, rules languages, logic programming, Semantic Web technologies, Web services, knowledge management, Linked Open Data, configuration technologies and their applications. Axel has published more than 100 articles in journals, books, and conference and workshop contributions and co-organised several international conferences and workshops in the areas of logic programming, Semantic Web, data management, Web services and related topics and acts/acted as editorial board member for JWS, SWJ and IJSWIS.
Marta Sabou, TU Vienna, Austria, https://martasabou.wordpress.com/ (marta.sabou@ifs.tuwien.ac.at) Reka Marta Sabou, PhD (Christian Doppler Laboratory Software Engineering Integration for Flexible Automation Systems – CDL-Flex.) currently leads the Semantic Representation and Integration Research Area at CDL-Flex. She holds a PhD from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She won the IEEE Intelligent System’s Ten to Watch Award (2006) for her PhD work and the Linked Data Cup at i-Semantics 2012. Her major areas of research are Semantic Web, Linked Data, Human Computation. She has worked in European projects on semantic technologies including WonderWeb, KnowledgeWeb, NeOn (task lead), OpenKnowledge and SmartProducts (WP lead), ETIHQ as well as on FFG-funded national projects in the area of Linked Data (DIVINE – WP lead). Her work has been published in high-impact conferences (WWW, Int. Semantic Web Conferences), the J. of Web Semantics, and IEEE Intelligent Systems. She is a key member of the Semantic Web community where she acts as an organizer of major conferences (e.g., PC Chair for ESWC’15) as well as editorial board member for three core journals in this area (SWJ, IJSWIS, JoDS).

In 1997 he became an associated member of the graduate program ‘mathematical optimization’ at the University of Trier and obtained a PhD in computer science in 2002. His current areas of research include semantic technologies, knowledge discovery as well as multimedia analysis & retrieval. He has served as General Chair, PC Chair, Senior PC member or PC member of numerous international conferences and workshops. Harald Sack has published more than 130 scientific papers in peer reviewed international journals and conferences including several standard textbooks, He is founding member of the German IPv6 council and serves as its general secretary since 2009. He has initiated the academic video search engine yovisto.com and is CEO at yovisto. Since 2014 he complements his university teaching with MOOCs on Semantic Web and Linked Data technology at OpenHPI.
